Rock Creek Trail Details
This 2-mile trail is located in the heart of the Kankakee River State Park. The entire journey is relatively flat and wide, and the fact that is its shaded means it is a popular spot for summer hikers looking to escape the heat. After crossing over rickety bridges and babbling creeks, you will come across Horsethief Cave, which is the only one of its kind in northern Illinois. Be careful as the overlook over the cave does not have any barriers along the edge. There are also a few different waterfalls where you can stop to have lunch.
