Ferne Clyffe Waterfall Trail Details
There are plenty of beautiful hikes in the Shawnee Forest, but this trail is considered to be one of the most scenics. Although it is just 1.3-miles long, this trail winds through moss-covered boulders and past babbling streams to a cascading waterfall. More adventurous hikers can scramble up to the top for better views, but keep in mind that this can be quite dangerous when the rocks are too wet and slippery. The trail is not particularly difficult, although it is not well marked, so it is easy to take a wrong turn and end up moving away from the falls. It is crucial to keep an eye out for clearings in the forest floor made by other hikers in order to stay on the correct path.
