Ohio River Scenic Byway

Located near the southern border of Illinois, this scenically stunning 188-mile route follows the banks of the Ohio River. You will pass by the Shawnee National Forest, the Garden of the Gods, and the Cave-in-Rock State Park where you can hike, picnic, or simply admire the sprawling natural landscape. Visit the museum at Fort Massac State Park or the Civil War statues and relics in the towns of Old Shawneetown and Golconda.
