Philadelphia Toboggan Company Carousel No. 6 Details
Colorados oldest working carousel was built in 1905. And although it is seen its fair share of turmoil over the years, it still becomes one of the most beloved historic landmarks in Burlington and the last antique carousel with an original painting. After being used in Elitch Gardens for almost 20 years, the carousel was sold by the park to make room for a newer, more modern merry-go-round. Sadly, it sat in storage for several years before being set up in it is new home the Kit Carson Fairgrounds. In 1981, several thieves stole some of the animals off the floor, although they were thankfully returned unharmed.
