Alberta Falls Details
Take the short but scenic 1.7-mile hike starting from the Glacier George Trailhead to witness one of the most magnificent waterfalls in the entire state of Colorado. The powerful roar of the 30-foot plummet can be heard before you even have a chance to lay your eyes on this stunning landmark. From there, the water trickles down rocks and boulders as it empties into Glacier Creek. You can stop here for lunch or take a few photos, although the trail does continue past the falls to Mills Lake. It is named after Alberta Sprague, one of the first settlers to live in the Estes Park area. In the mid-1870s, she and her husband Abner built a lodge that was used for hunting and fishing.
