Medano Creek Details
This land-locked state may not be known for sandy shoreline, but this area in the Great Sand Dunes National Park is one of the coolest natural beaches around. In the spring, snow runoff from the surrounding mountains creates this wide and shallow creek where you can spend the day splashing or tubing. It also has one of the most unique settings, as it is completely surrounded by rolling sand dunes. Keep in mind that the water levels will depend on the season and snow, however, it is usually the strongest from late spring to early summer.
