Rio Grande Trail Details

As one of the most scenically diverse biking trails in Colorado, this easy ride is great for all types of cyclists. For 42 miles it follows the Roaring Fork River and passes historic ranches, sprawling wildflower meadows, and several interesting landmarks along the way. While the entire route spans from Glenwood to Aspen, those looking for a shorter trip can end the trip in Carbondale. This also avoids the incline a large part of the 2,100-foot incline which can be difficult for some bikers. However, those embarking on the full route can hitch a ride back to their car using the Roaring Fork Transit Authoritys (RFTA) Bike Bus.
