For over 20 miles, it takes you through canyons, lakes, wildlife centers, and parks giving you endless opportunities to stop and enjoy a bit of nature. But even if you are doing the entire trail without breaks, you will still be happy soaking in the magnificent views of the Colorado River during your ride. Highlights along the way include the Blue Heron Lake, the Western Colorado Botanical Gardens and Butterfly House, and the Clifton Nature Park. It is also worth stopping towards the end at Riverbend Park, where you can spot deer and even coyotes resting by the river banks.
