This short but sweet 2.4-mile trek has one of the most rewarding views of nature practically every season of the year. Within the first half-mile, you will encounter a pristine lake with fantastic views of the surrounding valley. But that is just the first step you will want to continue trekking up towards the glacier for unobstructed views of James Peak in the distance. If you do plan to go during winter or early spring, you will need to have appropriate equipment like snowshoes or microspikes to help with the journey. However, the sweeping views of snow-covered mountains and peaks are a breathtaking sight that will make the trek worth every step.
