Maxwell Falls Lower Trail

This family-friendly trail is just under an hours drive from Denver, making it a great option for travelers who crave a quick escape into the great outdoors. Not only is the terrain easy to manage, but the woodland forest and distant mountain views guarantee that you have something interesting to look for the duration of the hike. However, the star attraction of this hike is the beautiful Maxwell Falls which sits at the end of the 2-mile trail. The waterfall should be active during the summer, although it still might be frozen if you are hiking during the spring (in which case, you will also want to bring microspikes to navigate the ice on the trail).
