As it travels along the Continental Divide, it crosses hot springs, wooded forests, ranchlands, and of course, the mighty Arkansas River. You will also have the chance to visit over half a dozen ghost towns along the way, many of which were once thriving mining destinations in the mid-1800s. But if you are looking for something a little more lively (with restaurants and shops), Poncha Springs, Buena Vista, and Salida are also accessible from this route.
