Watson Woods Riparian Preserve Details

This 126-acre park of riparian forest is all that remains of this threatened habitat in Prescott. Over the past few years, over 800-acres have been destroyed by gravel extraction, firewood cutting, and garbage disposal, significantly impacting numerous vulnerable creatures that once lived in the area. But thanks to the diligent efforts of this nature preserve, the landscape has been restored, and many of the birds, mammals, and reptiles have returned. During your visit, you can stop by Watson Lake, the Granite Basin, or the Watson Woods to see over 250 types of birds.
