Roper Lake

This 32-acre reservoir is an outdoor enthusiasts dream. You can do everything here, from swimming and boating to fishing and kayaking. It is located just a stones throw from Safford near the Gila River and Valley in Roper State Lake Park. Keep in mind that swimmers should remain in the designated swimming area away from the motorboats. There is also a small beach where you can lay out a beach towel for some sunbathing or picnicking. If the weather is a bit chilly, you can always hop over to the outdoor hot springs for a soothing dip in natural spring water.
