White Mountain Scenic Road Details
Take this 123-mile trip through Arizona's second-largest mountain range to see pine forests, lush valleys, and eroded limestone cliffs. The journey to the White Mountains starts at the Apache Hon-Dah reservation before heading east through the Apache-Sitgreaves National Forest. It then passes through the Mogollon Rim towards the Colorado Plateau. There are plenty of places to stop to break up the drive, including the impressive Mount Baldy Peak. With an elevation of 11,590 feet, Mount Baldy is only the second-highest mountain in Arizona, although it is a great place to get in touch with nature. You can spend the afternoon hiking or fishing at one of the numerous manmade lakes.
