It is easy to see why this road has been awarded as one of the Top 5 Scenic Drives in America. This two-lane highway is full of switchbacks that take you through Oak Creek Canyon, the top of the Mogollon Rim. Every few miles or so is another picturesque landmark to dissever, from the pined woods of the Coconino National Forest to the crystal blue swimming pools of Slide Rock State Park. It is also worth pulling over at the Oak Creek Canyon Vista Point for sweeping, panoramic views over the canyon. This 14-mile drive may only take you an hour or two if you blow past all the different sights. However, it is worth taking your time to cherish all the incredible parks and landscapes that make this one of the most unique drives in the state.
