As you drive down the US Highway 89A, you will encounter this scenic drive from Fredonia and Bitter Springs. This 104-mile stretch of road is surrounded by colorful canyons, steep valleys, and desert forests of oak and juniper trees. One of the best views of the area is from the Navajo Bridge, which extends across the turquoise Colorado River. In addition to the spectacular landscapes, this route is also an excellent destination for wildlife viewing. Keep your eyes peeled for California Condors, an endangered bird with an impressive 9-foot wingspan. Or peek into the valley to spot deer, elk, squirrels, and even bison roaming the land.
