Wave Cave Trail Details
This unique rock formation is a must-see if you are hiking along the Superstition Mountains. There are not any signs or markers, which makes this off-the-beaten-path destination even that more special for those who stumble upon it. From the ground, Wave Cave may look like an ordinary mountain, with boulders and cliffs just like any other landmark in this area. But as you make the 2.4-mile walk to the top, you will discover a hollowed-out cave with a rock that resembles a surfer’s wave. Overall, it is not a difficult trail, although some parts are steep with loose gravel. The only tricky part is staying on the correct path and not getting lost.
