Port Aransas Details
On the northern tip of Mustang Island sits this 6-mile stretch of beach overlooking the Gulf Coast. The water is impeccably clean, and the sand is scattered with seashells, sand dollars, crabs, clams, and other fascinating creatures. Unless you are visiting in summer, the waters are generally too rough for swimming, although they are lifeguards on the premise in case you are feeling adventurous. It is a popular destination for locals, and you will often find RVs, trucks, and cars parked right on the shoreline. Overnight visitors can take advantage of the freshwater showers and modern bathroom facilities, or they can choose to stay at one of the hotels and resorts across the street.
