Pine Ridge Overlook Details

Immerse yourself in the great outdoors with this scenic hike through the McKinney Roughs Nature Area. Despite it being just 13 minutes from the Austin city center, this park feels completely remote and secluded. The trail stretches for 2.7 miles alongside the Colorado River and travels through pine forests and grassy meadows. The main highlight of the trail is the overlook itself, which allows hikers to enjoy unobstructed views of the flowing river below. If time allows for it, you can continue past the overlook towards the riverbank. While there isnt much shade along this portion of the trail, you can stop for a quick dip in the refreshing waters to cool off.
