There are plenty of hiking trails to choose from when you visit Garner State Park, although this trek is arguably one of the most popular. It is not particularly long (the entire loop is just 1-mile), although the inclines to the peak can be steep and difficult. The highlight of the trail is the view from the summit of the mountain, where you'll see Hill Country, the Frio River, and the park down below. Due to its accessibility, this trail is quite popular with families and day-trippers. If you prefer to have a bit of privacy during your hike, it is recommended to come right before sunrise. Not only will you practically have the park to yourself, but you will also get to enjoy one of the best views in all of Hill Country!
