Big Bend National Park has plenty to offer in terms of hiking trails, but this one is ideal for those craving a bit of adventure. The trail starts out relatively flat, although it quickly ascends 2,000 feet up a steep 45-degree path. It is worth taking this part slowly, as there are overgrown bushes and prickly pear cacti covering parts of the trail. However, you will soon emerge from the wilderness and be rewarded with jaw-dropping views from the peak of the hill. If you are doing the multi-day hike, then this is a great spot to set up camp and to admire the once-in-a-lifetime views of the stars and milky way. However, it is equally stunning during the day or at sunset.
