Hugging the western border of Texas is an unspoiled paradise of breathtaking landscapes. This trail is a great drive for those who want to experience the more rustic, wilder side of the region. With numerous national parks and historic towns to visit, this route is guaranteed to delight any outdoor enthusiast. Make sure to pack your hiking boots because there are some excellent day hikes at both Franklin Mountains State Park and Guadalupe Mountains National Park. It's also worth visiting the beautiful limestone cliffs and deep valleys at Big Bend National Park. Besides the parks, you will also be able to stop by El Paso, which is considered the cultural bridge between Mexico and the United States. Here, you will find three of the earliest missions ever established and the fascinating museum district (which is home to the famous 1930 Plaza Theater).
