A melting pot of German, Mexican, Native American, Alsatian cultures, this route is considered to be one of the most unique trails in central Texas. It covers almost 870 miles between Austin, San Antonio, Crystal City, and Lampasas and takes you to popular attractions like the Alamo, Enchanted Rock, and San Antonio Mission National Historical Park. The scenic landscapes are almost as diverse as the cultures that inhabit the area. Along the way, you will drive past flowing rivers, crystal lakes, and jagged limestone cliffs. You can stop by the Colorado River for a short swim or hike to a cascading waterfall in the middle of McKinney Falls State Park.
