The Muleshoe National Wildlife Refuge in Texas, is a safe haven for the migratory waterfowl. It contains 6,440 acres of land that hosts a myriad of birds, animals, and plants. The popular resident is the Sandhill Cranes which can be seen best in December through January. The refuge is marked as the oldest in the state and has been welcoming wildlife since 1935.
