Bijhouwer Forest Details
Once a 73-acre piece of property used for agriculture, the Bijhouwer Forest is now a quiet resting place of forgotten forest ponds and fields. A 1.3-mile loop follows through the tree overgrowth to loop past falls and an unusual bedrock protrusion that is locally known as the "Hundred-Foot Rock." Visitors will also notice the beautiful mountain laurel blooms when visiting in midsummer as this unique flowering shrub is about as far north as it ever tends to grow.
