The Bearce-Allen Preserve is a unique place to visit for those interested in the learning of conservation history and the natural ecology of the environment. Children and adults alike enjoy the interpretive trails along the 40 acres of the preserve where 21 separate interpretive locations educate visitors on the forest's history. Partially destroyed by fire in 1953, the woods are obviously forever changed, a fact that is easily observed along the three trails looping through the different locations for a total of 1.1 miles.
