Bass Rock Preserve Details
Bass Rock Preserve is a small conservation area of only approximately 10 acres, but the location makes it an ideal site. With a rocky beach shore and over 1,000 feet of water frontage on the Muscongus Sound, the easy .4 mile hike does take guests along the cove, which can be tricky when slippery from the high tide. Interestingly, this preserve also holds a "unique geological mystery" in the form of a 4 foot deep perfectly round hole, of which the origin is simply unknown.
