Lobster Cove Meadow and Appalache Preserves Details
Lobster Cove Meadow and Appalachia Preserves sit on almost 50 acres of thriving forested wetland. Located directly next to a pond and cove, wildlife flocks here offer viewers opportunities to find up to 140 species of birds. Interestingly, the cove of today was created in the 1880s from a stream damned and used as a lucrative ice selling business. With the introduction of freezers, it went into disrepair, became a beaver dam, and eventually was rebuilt to restore the lovely cove. Visitors can explore the 3 miles of paths via the flat old road or the steeper off-shooting paths.
