Once the site of a former schoolhouse from 1840-1895, the 1.7-mile network of trails on the School House Pond Preserve are no longer filled with the laughter of school children, but the delight of visitors discovering nature. Preserved by the gracious help of local landowners and conservationists, the 42 acres are rocky, wooded, and center around what was considered the Schoolhouse Pond, in actuality, the site is more of a cranberry bog. Old stone walls are still seen around the property, surrounded by wildflowers and moss.
