As the name might suggest, the Ocean Point Preserve is filled with wetland habitat. With the large Tibbett's Pond as the showpiece of the picturesque location, the wetland areas here are designated as significant waterfowl habitat under the Maine Department of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife. As such, the area is under strict conservation, and visitors are asked to respect the 1.1 miles of trails running through the preserve and observe rather than disturb while walking along the easy paths.
