Littlejohn Island Preserve Details
The Littlejohn Island Preserve is the set of a beautiful coastal property, welcoming visitors to relax and explore Maine's rocky shoreline. The 23 acres of the preserve is host to a 1.3-mile loop trail running along the shoreline with spectacular sweeping views across Casco Bay. Tide pools and ledges are found in abundance here, though some of the walkways are a little uneven and difficult for strollers or wheelchairs. Towering over the path, visitors are sure to notice a bald eagle or owl sitting in the limbs of the large red oaks. The preserve has only one small parking lot, just before the stone gate, and is limited to four cars. Parking is frequently filled, especially during the summer months and winter weekends. Please do not park illegally - you will be towed by the local residents! Rules on "NO PARKING" now including no parking, idling, or waiting. No vehicular traffic beyond stone gates marked "private."
