A scenic walk and an interesting place to come to discover local history, the Gambo Preserve and Shaw Park hold something for everyone. Connecting Gambo properties, Shaw Park, and the Mountain Division Rail Trail, the easy path is slightly over a mile and is popular for walking, biking, and as access for those wishing to partake in water recreation sports. Passing old quarry pits and canals, visitors following trail offshoots will also notice the location of a dam and the oldest and largest gunpowder mill in the state that once supplied Civil War-era soldiers.
