Popular for birdwatching, the Capisic Park sits on 18 acres of quiet and well-maintained land in Portland. With gently sloping walking paths that are mostly flat, the true draw of this park is the pond and Capisic Brook Trail. Totaling only about a half-mile, the trail follows the stretch of the pond, which is the largest body of fresh water in the town. Nesting and migratory birds thrive in this small paradise. Warblers in particular are easy to spot in the springtime.
