Stockman Island Details

As a 16 acre refuge in Casco Bay, Stockman Island is a great place for both bird habitat and visiting. Once threatened as a development area, conservation efforts were put in place on this remote, rocky, and shrubbed landscape. Birds and other wildlife, such as seals, are found in abundance here, making this a photographer's dreamland. Today, as this area is prime bird nesting ground, visitors are asked to know their limits, visit after July 1st, and explore and leave this natural place as found.
