Higgins Farm Details
Visitors won't hear any motors on the 13 acres of protected Higgins Farm. Sitting on the southeastern shore of Chebeague Island, this area is for walking, swimming, fishing, and other outdoor recreation use only to protect the natural land from overuse. As one of Maine's traditional coastal farmlands, the area is flat and mainly open, as was any working farm for the last century. Though there is no confirmation, this very well was once the largest farm in the Casco Bay area with its produce delivered far beyond the bay.
