Frog Pond & Salamander Swamp Details

It starts right when the ice thaws and finally quiets down once the frost hits, but between the cold and snow visitors will hear the chorus of hundreds of tiny amphibians that call Frog Pond and Salamander Swamp home. Due to the continuous raucous of peepers, the wetlands here have always been known as a prime gathering ground for the tiny frogs and salamanders of the area. Recognizing that the vernal pool and swamp were critical to everything from wood frogs and bullfrogs to spotted salamanders, the 3 acres were donated for conservation in 1999.
