Pineo Ridge Details
When the Laurentide Ice Sheet passed through it left a huge impact on Maine's coast, forming what is now the Pineo Ridge. First moving in and pushing down hundreds of pounds of rocks and sediment, it eventually retreated to leave behind an obscure landscape of both flat barrens and random rocky boulders. The area today is a geologist's playground, standing out amongst the normally forested hills and mountains of Maine. This is some of the flattest land to be found in the state and is perfect for growing blueberries. Interestingly, 95% of the region's fruits grow here, well maintained by keepers throughout the year.
