Moose Cave Gorge Details

Moose Cave Gorge, an above-ground cavity at the bottom of a 45-foot canyon. Not for exploring, the fast-moving river here moves quickly under a granite slab and disappears momentarily before surfacing again downstream. To get there, visitors take a moderate hike through a 600 foot long gorge of forest, boulders, and beautiful moss. The gorge was named after a moose that fell into the unlucky situation, ever since, visitors are warned to watch out for the slippery rocks and beware their footing.
