The Roost Details
A 2-4-mile easy/moderate out-and-back hike. The ridge overlooking the Wild River Valley is known by hikers as The Roost, quite possibly for the scenic overlooks found here. Located near Evans Notch, the trail passes on well-maintained routes through tall forests on a gentle slope. Once at the top, the views overlook the valley and the White Mountains. Though not difficult and located in a popular hiking area, the trail is only moderately crowded, making it perfect for a day hike with friends and family.
