A 2.8-mile moderate out-and-back hike. Known by locals as Chick Hill, Peaked Mountain is a popular hike for the residents of Clifton. The most popular way to hike up the mountain is via a fire road, though hikers will find several other trails to the summit. It is recommended to go on a clear day to get the most of the surrounding views of Acadia National Park and Mount Desert Island from the rocky summit and the ledges. There also used to be a fire tower here, though all that is left is the old rusted base.
