Horton Woods Details
An over 2-mile network following game trails, old wood tote roads, and crossing plank bridges and streams, the Horton Woods are a sanctuary for forest habitat and animals of all sorts. With mixed timber groves, the land was once agricultural area, most likely for grazing. Now overgrown, remnants of old stone walls are still able to be viewed along the marshy paths where vernal pools and a heath bog silently surround the tall trees, some as old as 170 years.
