A 6.8-mile moderate out-and-back hike encircling the Little Moose Public Land Reserve. Moosehead Lake and Big Moose Mountain are stunning features in this wilderness section of Maine. A mainly forested area with rising peaks and large lakes, the summit offers views from all angles. Along with sweeping overlooks, there is also a uniquely historic relic located here. No longer in use, the fire tower that once dominated this peak was built in 1905 and is rumored to be the first in the nation.
