A 3.5 mile moderate loop hike through forests and rocky footholds, the Bald Rock Mountain Trail in Camden Hills State Park rises 1,200 feet above sea level to look over the sweeping Penobscot Bay and the midcoast of Maine. Everything besides motorized vehicles are allowed here, but cross country skiing is the most popular sport. The summit is open and perfect for a rest or picnic with a couple of lean-tos and fire rings available for those who get there first.
