Colby Wildlife Preserve Details
With 12 acres of land sitting directly on the Damariscotta River, the site of the Colby Wildlife Preserve was once teeming with industry. From brickyards and ice works to sawmills and ferry landings, the location has seen much use until only recently when it was donated in 1994. Now grown back to its natural state, the Salt Marsh Cove is essential to the ecological health of the area as a natural filtration ground, food and water source, and as habitat for the wildlife that lives here. Visitors can observe the lush land by following an easy .6 mile looping trail. Facilities: Parking
