Deer Point Details
A privately owned point on Chebeague Island, Deer Point totals 13 acres of forested coastland. As the southwest tip of the island, the area is mostly thick forest and rocky shoreline with a trail leading out to the point. Though overnight camping isn't allowed, the spot is a generational picnicking area and extremely popular in the warmer months. Despite the ownership status, visitors are more than welcome here since the designation by easements converting the point for conservation. Now considered "forever wild," the land here is to remain untouched by future development.
