Spring Point Shoreway is a mile-long stretch meant for a short and easy relaxing stroll along the coast or for some time on a sandy Maine beach. Those into history will find this paved pathway a little more interesting though. Only a short distance away from Bug Light Park and the Greenbelt Walkway, the path passes Fort Preble which was built in 1808 and used in both the War of 1812 and the Civil War, as well as the Spring Point Head Light. Not much younger being built in 1867, a walk along its breakwater provides for extensive coastal views. Facilities: Parking
