History abounds in Fort Williams Park. With remnants of the historic fort itself adjacent to the short half-mile of crushed gravel pathway, the location is also home to an old structure known as Goddard Mansion, of which only walls remain, and the oldest lighthouse in Maine. The Portland Head Light is not only old, but impressive and known for its sweeping views of the surrounding water and rocky cliffs, the islands of Casco Bay, and the other surrounding lighthouses.
