This is a section of the 7-mile Old Orchard Beach is located to the south of the main beach. It was first established as a small beach community back in the 1880s. The beach near is more sloped than other sections and is known for its strong undertow. As a result, it is far less commercial and much quieter than the main beach, just to the north.
