During the Great Fire of 1947, a good number of buildings burned in this idyllic little coastal town leaving behind mostly rebuilds now used by summer residents and visitors. Once upon a time though, Goose Rocks Beach was the inspiration for a watercolor painting school and is still visited by artists today. With beautiful white sand sloping down towards the water and offshore islands along the horizon, it is no wonder visitors flock here all times of the year for a bit of coastal inspiration.
