Donated from private land as a protected easement, Fairchild has only 17 acres of protected forests along the Chauncey Creek Shoreline. The waterway here is relatively large and navigable, with the conservation efforts ensuring that visitors are certainly able to enjoy their watersports with a wooded backdrop. The view is also important to the popular area across the way, the Chauncey Creek Lobster Pier, a well-known stop among locals and tourists alike to get their hands dirty in some real Maine lobster. There is a short trail to the shoreline of Chauncey Creek which is accessible at the beginning of the private road. Look for a blue blaze on the right of the private road with the address of "8,12". No parking on the private road, but there is room on the shoulder of the main road.
